LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Amazing event! So happy to be a part of this! Well done!!

Nicole

The race was amazing! The energy in Sackets yesterday was something I’ve never experienced. Thank you!!

Elizabeth

That race was going to be my last half. Then I finished and now there’s no way I’m missing next year's race  I have a year to get into better shape and lace up for year 2.
Erin

Y'all did such an excellent job with this race. I'm hoping to run the full next year! Thanks for bringing such a high quality event to the north country!
Katie

I want to share my gratitude for everything you all did to put on such an amazing race! As someone who is new to running I was very nervous coming into a big race. I was so presently surprised when I arrived! From packet pickup to race day everyone was so welcoming and encouraging! The race was so well planned out!

This race followed me running the boilermaker, and as amazing as that race was I truly believe this blew it out of the water. There we so many volunteers covering every aspect that makes things stressful. Parking couldn't be more convenient with all the volunteers directing and signs leading the way. Every turn was manned with people making sure you were heading the right way and encouraging you to keep pushing. There were plenty of water stations and porta-potties along the route. The finish line was so energetic. So thank you for everything you did to put together such an incredible race! I can't wait to see what you guys do with it next year!

Alyssa

Congratulations on a successful inaugural marathon! I’ve been a race RD in the past and I know there can be nail biting moments all along the way. You did a terrific job. Yesterday’s marathon was my 73rd and while the heat got to me, the great support and lovely views at the end made it all worth it. I ran the race as a training run for the VT 50K later in September, so time wasn’t a focus anyway.

I hope you’ll be able to get some rest, secure in the knowledge that you provided a great experience for all the runners and their families.

Karin

Thank you both for organizing an amazing event! I truly had a wonderful time and had been looking forward to being a part of it ever since I signed up in February. All the information that you shared as the event came closer was also greatly appreciated. I have attended many events where I don't receive parking, packet pickup and race day directions/information until 24-48hrs out.

As for the race day itself, loved the course. A great mix of going through the Village and hitting the country roads. Village/City running on its own can be a pain with all the sharp turns and not letting you settle into a pace. However, the mix worked really well. The crowd support was phenomenal and I'm sure will only get stronger at future events. Wineglass is the only other event where I see crowd support at a comparable level and its so much fun for the runners. Continued...

I'm often on the fence with an out and back, as opposed to loop courses, but at this event it worked really well. I think it added to the crowd support, as folks in the Village knew we'd be back through and stayed out for the entire race. Also, on the route back, passing oncoming runners with all the cheers, waves and encouragement, added to the festive atmosphere that you created.

Great food afterwards and more than enough options and quantity. The crowd also stuck around to chat and mingle (again I think this was due to the type of runner you attracted by making this a fun, festive, celebratory event). Volunteers were plentiful, helpful and cheery. Perfect number of water stations and all the kids at the stations knew how to hand off drinks.

Sorry this is so lengthy, wanted to be comprehensive and this is not something I usually do after a race, but this one was pretty awesome! Enjoy some time off and when you get registration open for 2024, let me know ;)

Simon

Organization was very good and top level for me! Volunteers and course marshals were awesome and friendly, they were trying to pay attention to each runner.

I love the piece they aired tonight about how it boosted business so much. Congratulations! With the businesses so excited, it will come full circle and help the marathon become bigger and better. All due to your hard work!

Chris

This was an unbelievable event from start to finish. I searched for a marathon, my third, to do last March. I am so glad my search led me to here! What an amazing day and weekend for me and my friends. They ran the half. Hats off to both of you for an incredible experience I won’t soon forget. The weather too was spectacular! Sackets Harbor is a beautiful place.

I will miss the emails and Facebook messages that kept me excited and informed over the last 5 months. You both deserve much praise for a job well done!!!

Mike

I want to take a moment of your time after this extremely busy day for you, to thank you for such an amazing race experience! Everything was sooo well supported and planned out and wanted you to know that I saw and truly appreciate the effort that yourselves, all the volunteers and town of Sackets Harbor put into this race!

I hope the day was as amazing for you as it was for myself and all the other runners I spoke with today! Thanks again and hopefully I’ll be back next year!

Nicole

I am incredibly impressed with the event you put on and I especially loved that I could walk to the start from where I live! Thank you both for all of the work that you put in to set this event up!

This was my first ever just marathon event (I did IRONMAN Lake Placid so I did one there as part of the triathlon) and I'm very glad I got to race it in Sackets! Thank you again!

Emma

Congratulations on organizing an excellent event. Communication was very good. I have been participating in races from 5k to several Ironman for almost 50 years so I have lots to compare!
