Middle Creek 5 Mile Trail Challenge & Kids Run

This event has been graciously approved by the Middle Creek Wildlife Management and the PA Game Commission.  With a portion of the proceeds being donated to Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area for use maintaining the hiking trails on the property.

LOCATION

July 15, 2023 Race Start 10AM

Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area Visitors Center:
100 Museum Road
Stevens, PA  17578

This will be the start and the finish for the race.  The Visitors Center will be open including use of the public restrooms.  PLEASE keep all facilities clean as they are allowing use of their facilities versus a bunch of porta potties.

There is a strict NO LITTERING policy for this race.  If you are caught littering you will be immediately disqualified from the race.

EVENTS

5 Mile Trail Challenge  

This will be a 5 mile trail run using the Spicebush Trail, up the Valley View Trail to the Horseshoe Trail then down Elder's Run Trail and back to the finish along the Middle Creek Trail etc....    This run is for ages 13 and up.

There will be an aid station at the start and finish and one along the course.

Kids Run (THIS IS A FREE EVENT FOR ALL KIDS 12 & UNDER)

*** IMPORTANT NOTICE***-Sign in as a Guest when registering your child, do not register as yourself ***

This will be about 1.5 miles on the Conservation Trail.  A fun loop for kids up to ridge, through forest, field and wetlands.  Great for Kids of all ages. Kids run is for kids ages 12 and under.  Parents feel free to run with your child!

Aid station only at the start and finish for the kids run.

Bib pickup/registration will start at 8:30am-9:30am REGISTRATION PICK UP WILL CLOSE PROMPTLY AT 9:30AM

Awards will be given to the Overall Male and Female finishers and the top three Male and top three Female in the follow age categories.

5 Mile Challenge all finishers will receive a tech shirt if registration is received by June 22nd After June 22nd nothing is guaranteed.

5 Mile RACE SHIRT:  YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE JUNE 22ND TO RECEIVE A RACE SHIRT. 

THE SIZE YOU CHOOSE AT REGISTRATION IS THE SIZE YOU WILL RECEIVE AT THE RACE. 

NO EXCHANGES FOR A DIFFERENT SIZE IS AVAILABLE UNTIL AFTER THE START OF THE RACE. 

ANY AVAILABLE SHIRTS AFTER THE START OF THE RACE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR SIZE EXCHANGE AND OR FOR PURCHASE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.

IF YOU SIGN UP FOR THE RACE AFTER THE SHIRT CUTOFF YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO NOR ARE YOU GUARANTEED  A RACE SHIRT - IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THAT.   

DO NOT HARASS OR GIVE MY VOLUNTEERS A HARD TIME ABOUT SHIRTS.

KIDS RUN all finishers will receive a medal.

9:50am - Race Announcements / Instructions

10:00am - Kids Race Start

10:00am -  5 Mile Race Start

11:00am - Award Ceremony Begins

Aid Station is at the Strat/Finish Line and one along the 5 mile course.

COURSE MARKINGS

The course is WELL MARKED with Orange Ribbon and Directionals.  Just like on a road you read the signs IN FRONT OF YOU!!!! that will keep you on the right path.  only look at what is ahead of you as there are several intersections with directional signs pointing you in the right direction.  IT IS ULTIMATELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RUNNER TO STAY ON COURSE,

RACE SWAG/AWARDS:

We DO NOT hold and or mail out  shirts / bibs/ medals and or awards of any kind after a race.  You must pick up or make arrangements to pick up your bib /swag at packet pick and or on race day.  After the start of our races any available shirts can be exchanged for a different size  and or purchased on a first come first serve basis.  Thank you for your understanding.
